DHAKA-Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali today lauded Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's "Vision 2030" and reiterated Bangladesh's readiness to support his ongoing development initiatives.
The foreign minister's appreciation came when he paid a courtesy call on Saudi Shoura Council Speaker Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh at Hotel Le Meridien in Dhaka.
The Saudi speaker praised Bangladesh's remarkable economic progress under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He mentioned that Saudi Arab-Bangladesh bilateral relations have entered a new height in recent years with new opportunities.
The foreign minister echoed the same and informed the speaker on the ongoing development projects and other socioeconomic progress in the field of food security, poverty alleviation, rural development and women empowerment under the "Vision 2021" of the present government of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dr Abdullah eulogized the role of Bangladeshi workers particularly professionals, doctors, engineers and skilled workers and showed interest to get more workers from Bangladesh at all levels.
They also discussed further strengthening of the solidarity and unity of Muslim Ummah.
Pointing out the Arabic Islamic American Historical Summit to be held in Riyadh on May 21, the Saudi speaker hoped that leaderships of the Muslim Ummah would engage constructively in peace and stability in the region.
Saudi Ambassador in Dhaka Abdullah H. M. Al-Mutairi was present on the occasion.
