A Dhaka court today indicted BNP leaders and former ministers M irza Abas and Alamgir Kabir along with a former government official for trial in a graft case.
Dhaka fourth special judge's court indicted them, with former joint secretary Bijon Kanti Sarker being the third accused, and set January 1 for beginning the trial proceedings.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) accused them The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) allocated seven acres of government land illegally to a journalists' cooperative society at a rate lower than the market value in 2006.
Abbas was the minister while Kabir was the state minister of the Public Works Ministry while Sarker was a joint secretary of the same ministry when the allocation was made.
The judge, however, acquitted the two others after the indictment hearing.
The ACC filed the case on March 6, 2014 and submitted charge sheet against them on February 12, 2015.
