A couple was killed in a road crash in Madaripur’s Lakepar area as a truck collided head-on with a motorcycle on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam, 35, Grameen Bank’s Domsar branch manager in Shariatpur and his wife Farzana Islam, 30, central manager of the same bank.
They were heading to Shariatpur’s Domsar in a motorcycle that was hit by the truck at around 7.30 pm in front of Lakerpar Children’s Park on Madaripur-Shariatpur road. The couple died on the spot, locals said.
Madaripur Sadar Hospital resident medical officer Dr Shahriar Shakil said that the bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue.
