Tributes and condolences continue to pour in for prominent economist and former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled.
Immediately after his demise, people from all walks of life as well as different political parties and leaders expressed their shock and sent condolences.
A number of cabinet members also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the noted banker.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, LGRD Minister Md Tajul Islam, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed, Awami League Advisory Council Member and Central 14-Party Alliance Spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu, Cultural Affairs State Minister KM Khalid,
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Khaled.
Khaled breathed his last this morning at the intensive care unit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital. He was 80.
