Karnaphuli Club made a good start to the CJKS Confidence Cement First Division Cricket League after beating Bangladesh Railway SA by three wickets at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram Sunday.
Put in to bat first, Railway folded for 107 runs in 42.4 overs. Opener Towhidur Rahman top scored 20. Also, Azmir Hossain 17, Jabbar Khan 15 and Rittiq Roy 13 reached double figures.
Wahidur Rahman Nayon and Mohammad Ashique grabbed three wickets each conceding 12 and 19 runs, respectively.
In reply, Karnaphuli Club coasted to victory scoring 108-7 in 45.4 overs. Kazi Azmal scored 36, Islamul Ahsan Abir 19 and Monirul Islam 15 not out.
Mozahidul Haque picked up four wickets for 26 runs while Azmir Hossain took two wickets for 22 runs.
