CEC hopes for peaceful environment of Bogura6 by polls

Huda today hoped that the Bogra6 constituency bypolls slated for June 24

will be held in a fair, neutral and peaceful manner.

We have faith in our mind that the Bogurapeople will exercise their

franchise in a favorable and peace environment as it is equally important as

the general polls, he said.

He expressed his optimism over this issue during a view exchange meeting

with the officials and law enforcement officials on the occasion of the by

elections to Bogura sadar constituency at Deputy Commissioner's office here.

The bypolls will be held from 9am to 5pm on June 24 at 141 centres while

electronic voting machine (EVM) will be used in voting, Election Commission

(EC) sources said.

There are about 3, 87,458 voters in this constituency, it added.

We will try to conduct EVM system for all the polls in the days to come,

Huda said.

Presided over by Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Md NurUrRahman, the

meeting was attended, among others, by Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of

Police and other senior officials of law enforcing agencies and district

administration.

EC Secretary Md Alamgir was also preset as the special guest on the

occasion.
