Build ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu: Tipu

DHAKA, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today said called for building a Sonar Bangla as it would be the greatest revenge against those responsible for the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The defeated forces killed Bangabandhu, but could not eliminate his ideology. We will never get back Bangabandhu but can build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by him, the minister said.

He was addressing a discussion and doa mahfil as chief guest to mark the National Mourning Day and martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, organized by Bangabandhu Parishad Jibon Bima Corporation at Rajuk auditorium, said a press release.

Tipu said Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of Bangabandhu and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasian has been working relentlessly to fulfill the dream of her father.

Speaking on the occasion as special guest, Planning Minister M A Mannan said Bangabandhu has given independence to the nation and the people of the country has to move ahead holding the ideology of Bangabandhu towards development.

He urged the people of the country to work standing beside Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to realize the dream of Bangabandhu.

Awami League (AL) Relief and Disaster Management Affairs Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, AL Dhaka City South Vice President Advocate Nurul Amin Ruhul, Jibon Bima Corporation Chairman Shelina Afroz and Managing Director Parveen Siddika also spoke at the discussion with Bangabandhu Parishad Jibon Bima Corporation President Md Shafikul Islam Miazi in the chair.
