Federation Cup champions Bashundhara Kings consolidated their solo lead in the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football with an all-win run, beating Muktijoddha KC 3-0 on Monday.
With the day’s victory at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla, star-studded Kings secured full 21 points from seven matches.
And Muktijoddha went down to 11th spot with their previous credit of three points from six outings.
Three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club also ensured an unbeaten record, securing full 15 points from five encounters.
And six times champions Dhaka Abahani remained in the third place with 14 points from six outings.
In the day’s match, Brazilian striker Robson Robinho opened the Kings’ account in the 10th minute, scoring his sixth goal in the league.
Omar Jobe of Sheikh Jamal DC topped the scorer list, scoring seven goals including a hat-trick.
Argentine forward Raul Becerra doubled the Kings’ margin in the 45th minute.
And local striker Towhidul Alam Sabuz sealed the fate of the game, scoring the third goal in the 75th minute for the Kings who dominated the first half 2-0.
In the day’s other match, Chittagong Abahani split points with Uttar Baridhara Club in a 2-2 affairs at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Brazilian forward Nixon Brizolara put Abahani ahead in the 40th minute (1-0) while Sumon Reza levelled the margin for Uttar Baridhara in the 56th minute (1-1).
Arif Hossain put Baridhara ahead in the 74th minute (2-1) while Kawser Rabbi of Abahani scored the equaliser in the dying moment (2-2).
