BNP pays lip-service to democracy: Inu

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2017(BSS)-Information Minister and president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)Hasanul Haq Inu said today that election is not on the agenda of Khaleda Zia. She is only paying lip-service to democracy but conspiracy is in her mind.

The minister was speaking at a condolence meeting at Dholpur Community Center in Jatrabari to commemorate the death of JSD leader Md Din Islam, who had died recently.

Remarking on the position of the BNP leader's position vis-...-vis the upcoming polls, he said that despite Khaleda Zia's claims of democracy, she had not disassociated from militants. Her proposal for an unelected government in effect was an evil design to undermine the polls and revive militancy and arson by fire.

Expressing deep respect to Din Islam, who was the cultural secretary of Dhaka city (east) committee of JSD, he said "Currently the government was committed to polls on schedule, eliminating militancy and continuity in development.

He said at such a critical moment the government had to face the conspiracies hatched by Khaleda Zia. Because she had not disassociated from militants nor had she apologized to the nation. Therefore, she remains a threat to democracy.

Chaired by the president of JSD's Dhaka (east) committee Shahidul Islam, the meeting was also addressed by member of the JSD's standing committee Dr. Anwar Hossain as special guest. Other JSD city leaders also spoke at the meeting.
