BNF founding anniversary observed in Faridpur

Founding anniversary of Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF) was observed on Friday through a holding rally and discussion meeting here.

Bangladesh NGO Foundation was floated on December 2, 2004 with the object of attaining the millennium development goals (MDGs).

The rally was brought out by members of a number of NGOs in the town. DC Umme Salma Tanzia and Police Super Shubhash Chandra Ghose attended the rally, among others.

NGO personality Azharul Islam chaired the post-rally discussion meeting. ADC (Gen) Protap Chandra Biswas was the chief guest at the function. A multimedia presentation on activities of the NGOs working in the district was made on the occasion.

The NGOs are: Poor Welfare Organization(PWO), Pathakali Sangstha, Gotti Gramin Mahila Unnyan Samity, Eso Jati Gori, Barsha Foundation, Rishada Bangladesh, Centre for Studies in Sustainable Development, Bangladesh Social Development Services, Amra Kaj Kori (AKK), Daridra Mukta Bangladesh, ROA, Social Organization for Voluntary Advancement and Beneficiaries Friendship Forum (BFF).

BSS Correspondent Prof. Md. Shahjahan, NGO personality Belayet Hossain, Abdul Jalil, Siraji Abir Khokon and Fazlul Hadi Sabbir participated in the discussion.

These 14 local NGOs receive annual grants from the government for carrying on their activities.
