Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) today celebrated the AFC Women’s Football Day on a large scale marking the ‘World Women’s Day’.
Besides Dhaka, this time the event was held at three grassroots zones — Feni, Madaripur and Nilphamari — districts. Young women’s football players from different schools and academies including Bangladesh national women’s football team participated in the event.
FIFA executive member and BFF women’s for football chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF vice presidents Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP and Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, BFF’s technical director Paul Thomas Smally and BFF executive committee’s members were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, women’s wing committee’s chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron congratulated to all on occasion of International Women’s Day. She also congratulated Prime Minister and BFF president Kazi Salahuddin.
Kiron said under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister the women’s society of the whole country is moving forward and under the leadership of BFF president, Bangladesh women’s football has achieved successes one after another.
Two hundred women’s booters participated on the occasion held at the official turf adjoining BFF Bhaban.
Besides, the ‘World Women’s Day’ was celebrated at Bhasha Shaheed Abdus Salam Stadium in Feni, Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari and Madaripur District Stadium in Madaripur in the morning.
