Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of ruling Awami League (AL), observed the historic March 7 in a befitting manner commemorating the landmark speech by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To mark the day, leaders and activists of the organisation, led by its central president Al Nahean Khan Joy and general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee, paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban on Dhanmondi Road No 32 around 8:30 am this morning.
After laying the wreath, they stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of independent Bangladesh.
Later, around 11:00 am, a rally was also brought out from the premises of Suhrawardy Udyan’s Flame eternal, and marched towards Bangabandhu Bhaban on Dhanmondi Road No 32.
BCL DU unit president Sonjit Chandra Das and general Secretary Saddam Hussein, Dhaka Metropolitan North BCL president Ibrahim Hossen and general secretary Saidur Rahman Hridoy, Dhaka Metropolitan South BCL president Mehedi Hasan and general secretary Jubaer Ahmed, leaders and activists of BCL different units took part in the programme.
