DHAKA, The 25th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League (BASL) will be observed tomorrow.
The BASL was founded on July 26 in 1994 as an associate body of the ruling Awami League as per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
To mark the day, the BASL has taken elaborate programmes throughout the country.
As part of these programmes, the national and party flags would be hoisted at all the BASL offices at the central, district, upazila, city and ward levels at 6 am tomorrow.
Besides, rich tributes will paid at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi road no32 at 10am on Saturday and a procession would also be brought out from in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at 11am on that day.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the procession.
All the BASL offices located at the ward and thana levels across the city and its central office will be illuminated on the occasion.
