A demonstration on how the use of 5G will make it possible to secure high-risk industrial management in the future has been exhibited at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

King Felipe of Spain on Monday inaugurated the four-day conference of all the telecom companies of the world. Some 80,000 delegates are expected at the annual gathering of the big players of the telecom industry.

At the Mobile World Congress, many tech manufacturers are announcing 5G technology for virtual interactive applications, robot clusters, automated driving, smart wearables, automated patrol inspections, smart mining, smart tunneling, and other applications in coal mining.

The 5G has been the centre of attention at this yearโ€™s congress. The industry giants have been demonstrating the necessary use of 5G technologies not only in industrial production but also in peopleโ€™s lives. The demonstrations of 5 G-powered devices include, among others, unmanned helicopters and routers.

T-Mobile is exhibiting unmanned helicopters. This helicopter can take off and land safely with passengers without a pilot. The helicopter can even make an emergency landing by choosing the nearest safe place if it detects any adverse conditions while flying in the sky. The 5G router will be completely different from the current routers.

Meanwhile, the 5G technology will completely overhaul the routers we see today. The 5G-powered wireless routers will only connect to the network through a code from a specific operator. And with the bandwidth that this router will have, it will be possible to keep all kinds of smart devices in the family connected to high-speed Internet.

Apart from routers and unmanned helicopters, telecom giants are also exhibiting the extensive use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The demonstration of smart city for the future, a key theme of this yearโ€™s event, is also there.

On the future applications of 5G, GSMA Director General Mats Granard said that it is difficult to foresee the remarkable changes that 5G would bring to everyday life and massive industrial production systems.

โ€œAt this year's MWC, the 'Smart Mining' project showed what that change could be. The demonstration of the effective use of 5G in the future to build a safe, simple, affordable, and humane living system, world system, will undoubtedly assist the entire world in preparing for the field of 5G usage,โ€ he said during a session.

Intelโ€™s pavilion is demonstrating the next generation computer processor.

Another telecom giant, Orange, shows how human emotions will merge with the smart technology of the near future with the magic touch of artificial intelligence.

Also, keeping the Velocity initiative at the centre, almost all the industry titans in the world have prioritised the display of smart technology at the event. Tech manufacturers from around the world have demonstrated how smart technology will be integrated into their future innovations.

Chip manufacturers, who produce the core components of tech devices such as microchips, chipsets, semiconductors, processors, and microprocessors, have also introduced smart technology. Overall, this year's main attraction is the smart world of the future.

"The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 this year appears to be focusing more on innovative services than specific technologies," Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink, told UNB. "Also, it focuses on increasing the efficiency of networks. Some examples of innovative services include how mostly telecom technology can help people's daily lives, such as logistics and deliveries via drones, enhanced security via artificial intelligence and robotics, and so on."

Some examples of increasing the efficiency of networks and reducing the overall cost for maintenance of networks are efficient network design software, simplified network operations centre solutions, the reduction of power consumption of network elements.
