Bangladesh’s T20I Fixtures Before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022

The ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia will begin on October 16, and the month-long tournament will continue till November 13. With a little over three months left before the much-awaited competition is to kick off, all the participating teams are busy preparing for the big tournament. Bangladesh will take part in four more T20 series/competitions in the next three and a half months to be prepared for the ICC’s mega event. Let’s take a look at the Twenty20 fixtures of the Bangladesh team before the World Cup.

Bangladesh Cricket Team’s Scheduled T20I Series Before the 2022 ICC Twenty20 World Cup

The ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022 is quickly approaching, so every team is eager to identify and address their weaknesses. The best way to get proper preparation for the main event is to play as many series as possible. The Bangladesh men’s national team will play a good number of Twenty20 matches in the next few months, which will help them to find a suitable combination for the playing XI. The following are Bangladesh’s scheduled T20I fixtures before the World Cup in 2022.

T20I Series against West Indies (July)

Bangladesh will play three Twenty20 International matches against the hosts West Indies, in the month of July. The series will start on July 2 (Saturday).

T20I Series against Zimbabwe (July-August)

Bangladesh have a scheduled tour in Zimbabwe in the month of July. They will play five ODIs and three Twenty20 international matches during the tour. The final fixtures of the bilateral T20I series against Zimbabwe are yet to be confirmed.

Asia Cup 2022 (August-September)

Sri Lanka will host the T20 format Asia Cup 2022 in the August-September window. A total of six teams will take part in the competition. Five teams will directly qualify for the main event, and they are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

One remaining spot will be picked from the qualifier competition, which will be held just before the tournament. The qualifier will feature four teams: the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The Bangladesh team is expected to play at least four matches during the 2022 Asia Cup. The final fixtures of the series are yet to be announced.

Tri-Nation T20I Series (October)

The NZC (New Zealand Cricket Board) has confirmed that Bangladesh will play a tri-nation series against Pakistan and New Zealand in October in New Zealand, just before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022. The top two teams in the points standings will face off in the title game after each team plays two matches against the other.

As per the confirmed schedule, Bangladesh will likely play 15 or more T20I matches before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022. Bangladesh don’t have any series at home as they will play all the matches abroad. They will benefit from playing away games since it will assist them get ready for the World Cup’s main event.
