Dhaka: The series-deciding third T20 International match between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium was reduced to 17 overs per side after a two-hour rain delay disrupted play.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh faced early difficulties against New Zealand following a sudden batting collapse in which they lost three wickets in the space of 10 balls before rain interrupted the match. At the time of the stoppage, Bangladesh were 50-3 in 6.4 overs, with Liton Das on 25 and Towhid Hridoy on 2.

New Zealand’s stand-in captain, Nick Kelly, won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to secure the series victory. Bangladesh, under the leadership of Liton Das, made a single change to their lineup by bringing in Mohammad Saifuddin to replace the injured Tanzim Hasan Sakib. New Zealand made two changes, with Jaydon Lennox and Ben Sears coming in for Ben Lister and Matt Fisher.

The series had already been impacted by weather, as the second T20 match in Chattogram was abandoned without a result due to rain. Bangladesh currently lead the series 1-0 after securing a six-wicket win in the first match. The hosts had earlier won the ODI series 2-1.
