DHAKA, Bangladesh has created an option for its foreigners to extend their visa for next three months in view of the latest coronavirus related development.
“Foreign nationals with valid visas staying in Bangladesh now will have the
option of extending their existing visas by three months,” a foreign ministry
circular said here today.
The foreign ministry sent the circular to all diplomatic missions, offices
of the UN agencies and international organisations stationed in Dhaka.
It also notified the foreign missions about the temporary travel
restrictions that imposed from today in an effort to halt the spread of
coronavirus in the country.
“Passengers originating from Europe, except the United Kingdom, will not be
allowed to enter the country with effect from this noon (12.00) to March 31,”
said the circular.
All Bangladesh-bound flights, originating from the countries that have
suspended incoming flights from Bangladesh, will remain suspended, it added.
Moreover, it notified all on-arrival visas of Bangladesh will remain
suspended for two weeks for incoming passengers of all countries.
Those who are entering Bangladesh from other coronavirus-affected countries
will be placed under self-quarantine for two weeks after their arrival, said
