The Bangladesh Scouts Day was observed in the district today as elsewhere across the country with the theme "Scouting Korbo, Smart Bangladesh Gorbo".
Bangladesh Scouts started its activities in independent Bangladesh on April 8, 1972 with the full cooperation of the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Marking the day, the national and scout flags were hoisted atop the scout building in the district town this morning.
A discussion was held in the district scouts building this morning on the occasion.
Upazila Scout Commissioner Golam Mostafa Khokon presided over the function.
Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahid Mahmud, Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ibnul Abedin, District unit Scout General Secretary Shah Mohammad Golam Kibria, Sadar Upazila unit Secretary Ataur Rahman, Scout Leader Khalilur Rahman, among others, spoke.
