Bangladesh now world’s role model for dev: Amu

JHALOKATI, May 28, 2017 (BSS) - Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday said Bangladesh has now been emerged as a role model for development in the world as the country is among top two countries of Asia in terms of attaining development target.

"The government has taken huge development schemes by launching 61 economic zones across the country," he said, adding that factories and industries will be built in the economic zones.

The minister was addressing the prize giving ceremony of the 38th National Science and Technology Week as the chief guest at Nalchity Upazila Parishad Auditorium here.

Amu also said the government has emphasized on technical education as skilled manpower with technical knowledge is required for running the industries and factories of the Payra port area.

Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ashraful Islam, the prize giving ceremony was also addressed by District Council Chairman Sarder Md Shah Alam, Nalchity Upazila Unit Awami League (AL) President and Pourashabha Mayor Tachlim Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary and Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Younus Laskar and Secondary Education Officer Md Anwarul Azim.

Later, the minister distributed the prizes among the best educational institutions, teachers and students.
