DHAKA, March 25, 2017 (BSS) - Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata observed the 'Genocide Day' today with due solemnity.
An exhibition of photographs of horrific crimes committed by Pakistani occupation army in 1971 was held, documentaries on the genocide and historic speech of March 7 of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were also screened on the occasion at the beginning of the day's program.
Deputy High Commissioner Zokey Ahad presided over a discussion held on the occasion, which was addressed by veteran journalists Manosh Ghosh and Upen Tarafder.
"The barbaric genocide that the Pakistan occupation army had committed in different parts of Dhaka including in Dhaka University and Razarbagh Police Lines was one of the worst killings of that time," Ahad said.
The Deputy High Commissioner called upon world conscience to recognize the day internationally.
