Bangladesh marching forward: FM

RANGPUR, Dec 15, 2016 (BSS)-Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP, has said Bangladesh has been marching forward through realising the dreams of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build a developed 'Sonar Bangla' to bring smile on the faces of the common people through meeting their all fundamental needs and improving life standard," he said.

The foreign minister was addressing a discussion arranged in observance of the Martyred Intellectuals Day-2016 on Chirirbandar Rail Station premises in Chirirbandar upazila town of Dinajpur on Wednesday afternoon as the chief guest.

On the occasion, he also switched on the newly built power supply lines connecting 1,062 residential houses of 16 villages, distributed corrugated iron sheets, laid the foundation stone of Upazila Muktijoddha Complex and inaugurated training on tailoring for rural women.

Chirirbandar Upazila Awami League President Ayubur Rahman Shah presided over the function.

The foreign minister said that Bangladesh has already become a global role model for progress through achieving development in all sectors during tenure of the present government led by Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina.

"In the past, the BNP-Jamaat alliance had pushed the country toward

destruction ---- destroyed the Railway sector. They do not want development--- They worked for pushing the country behind," he said.

He called upon the common people for working unitedly to build a middle income nation by 2021 and developed Bangladesh by 2041 for paying due tribute to the martyred intellectuals through completing the unfinished works of Bangabandhu.
