Washington: Bangladesh and the United States have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance strategic cooperation in the energy sector. This agreement, signed at the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C., is seen as a significant advancement in the bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the MoU was signed by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman. The agreement comes at a crucial time when nations worldwide, including Bangladesh, are grappling with energy security challenges due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
The MoU aims to bolster Bangladesh’s energy security by diversifying its energy sources, focusing on affordability and supply chain sustainability. This agreement is expected to pave the way for broader energy cooperation between the two countries.
