Bangabandhu’s birth centenary: BGMEA provides 90,000 T-shirts

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on Sunday provided 90,000 special T-shirts for wearing during different programmes on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

BGMEA president Rubana Huq handed over the T-shirts to Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, chief coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee, at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Rubana said, “We all have to rear the ideology of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution to the country. Although our sector is passing through a bad day, we’re happy for participating in the celebrations of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary with all.”

Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury thanked BGMEA for providing the T-shirts as gift.

“We took initiatives to arrange mega events to celebrate the birth centenary. Unfortunately, we’d to reschedule those following the outbreak of coronavirus. However, we’ll distribute T-shirts among the participants of different programmes,” he said.
