BAF chopper medevacs RMCH doctor to Dhaka

Post-COVID patient with pneumonia Dental Surgeon of Rangpur Medical College Hospital Dr. Abdul Wahab was medevaced (medically evacuated) from Mymensingh to Dhaka in a critical condition on Tuesday by AW-139 helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force.


Bangladesh Air Force has been providing emergency air transport and medical evacuation (medevac) assistance in aid to civil power to protect coronavirus patients and continuing various activities to affirm its commitment to meet all emergency needs in a professional manner.


In line with this, Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force provided necessary guidance to carry out the medevac mission. Dr. Abdul Wahab was emergency flown from Mymensingh to Dhaka by BAF AW-139 helicopter after deterioration in his physical condition. Mentionable that he was undergoing treatment at ICU of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Later, he was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Dhaka for better treatment, says a press release of ISPR.
