The Arabarak River (Boddho) Jolmohol stretched about 86 acres at Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district has been excluded from the list of ‘Jolmohol’ on the recommendation of River Conservation Commission.
The decision was taken at the 69th meeting of the committee on providing Government Jolmohol Leasing under the Ministry of Land today with Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury in the chair, an official release said.
This Jolmohol will not lease from now on to protect the navigability of the water body, the release added.
Protecting the navigability of any reservoir is important in implementing the government’s climate and environmental protection policy.
