APBn member shot in Cox’s Bazar gunfight

A member of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) sustained bullet wound in a gunfight between groups of Rohingya people at a Rohingya camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.

The injured was identified as Kawsar Ahmed, a member of APBn-16. He is undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, said APBn-16 Captain Additional DIG Hasan Bari Noor.

The gunfight started between two groups of Rohingya at Noyapara camp around 12:30, he said.

An APBn team rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control when Kawsar suffered bulled wound during the exchange of gunfire, Hasan Bari added.
