Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the anti-liberation forces killed veteran freedom-fighter, labour-leader,teacher and former lawmaker Ahsanullah Master.
“With the help of state power, the anti-liberation forces killed veteran freedom fighter and former lawmaker Ahsanullah Master,” he said.
He said this while addressing a virtual discussion organized by Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master MP Smriti Parishad as the chief guest on the occasion of the 17th death anniversary of Ahsanullah Master to be observed tomorrow.
It was said at the discussion that on May 7 in 2004, a group of terrorists patronized by the then four-party alliance government led by BNP, killed him on MA Majid Mia High School ground at Noagaon in the district.
“Ahsanullah Master was elected Member of Parliament twice from Gazipur-2 constituency in 1996 and 2001. He was also a national committee member of Awami League and associated with different national and international organizations,” the minister added.
Mentioning that the verdict in the murder of Ahsanullah Master has not been executed yet, he demanded immediate execution of the verdict.
With newly elected president of Dhaka Bar Association Advocate Abdul Bari in the chair, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki as special guest.
Veteran journalist leader and freedom fighter Azizul Islam Bhuiyan, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Chief News Editor (Bangla) Ruhul Ghani Sircar Jyoti, Journalist Khan Mohammad Saleq and Former Principal of Gazipur Government Women’s College Professor MA Bari also attended it.
Ahsan Ullah Master Smriti Parishad General Secretary Ataur Rahman presented the key note speech on the occasion.
On November 9 in 1950, Ahsanullah Master was born at Haidarabad village under Gazipur district.
