Anatolian Rover Challenge 2022: ‘MIST Mongol Barota’ secures 3rd spot

Poland won the competition and India became the runners-up.

Twenty-one teams competed in the primary round of the ARC organised by the Space Exploration Society.

Fourteen teams from Bangladesh, the Czech Republic, India, Poland, Turkey, and the UK were selected for the final round.

Each team had to come across four missions where scenarios resembling the surfaces of Mars, the moon and the Earth were created, the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said Sunday.

Shafayetul, Tariquel, Riasat, Rashid, Shiary and Shantona from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Naheen, Fahim, Jamiul from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and two faculty advisors from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) participated in the final as members of Mongol Barota.

Earlier, Mongol Barota won the University Rover Challenge (URC) 2021, the world’s premier robotics competition held annually in the desert of Southern Utah in the US.
