Amu asks party men to work for Zila Parishad candidates

Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu has urged the party leaders and workers to stand beside the party nominated candidates for the upcoming Zila Parishad elections saying that efficient people are given nomination for the development at grassroots.

"The country is going ahead under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. There is no crisis of food in the country," he said while speaking at a reception programme here today.

District Awami League arranged the programme in honor of the industries minister with general secretary of the district Awami League Khan Saifullah Ponir in the chair.

District Awami League president Sardar Md Shah Alam, joint secretary Sultan Hossain Khan, Liakat Ali Talukder, Mahbub Hossain, Tarun Karmakar, Rezaul Karim Zakir and Hafiz Al Mahamud, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Later, Amu inaugurated the digital X-ray machine and other new medical equipment of Sadar Hospital. In a separate programme, he distributed Tk 1.80 lac among eight men and women from the welfare fund of Jubo Unnayan Tahbil.
