Actress Shimla grilled over Biman hijack attempt

CHATTOGRAM Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) of

Chattogram Metropolitan Police today quizzed actress Shimla in connection

with the hijack attempt of an aircraft of Bangladesh Biman.

Rejash Barua, inspector of CTU, told BSS that actress Shimla, who

reportedly had love affair with the alleged hijacker Polash Ahmed, was

quizzed for four hours from 10 am today.

But the inspector could not divulge with the details of the interrogation

for the sake of interests of the investigation.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry on February 25 formed the probe

committee to investigate the plane hijacking attempt that took place at

Chattogram airport.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines made an emergency

landing at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport on the evening of

February 24 after Polash Ahmed, a passenger of the flight, allegedly

attempted to hijack the plane.

Polash was killed later in an eight-minute operation by members of the

army's Para-commando unit.
