CHITTAGONG, Mar 28, 2017 (BSS) - At least 80 dwelling houses were gutted in a divesting fire in city's Shulakbahar area today.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from a woven at a shanty at Chairman Colony around 12:OO pm today and spread fast engulfing adjacent houses.
Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan, Deputy assistant director of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defense, said on information, nine fire fighting units from four fire stations rushed to the scene and doused the fire around 1:45pm.
Nearly 80 dwelling houses were burnt and the damages due to fire estimated at TK eight lakh, he said.
