DHAKA Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the 7th November was not the day of revolution, rather it was 'soldier killing day.'
Ziaur Rahman had captured the state power using the blood of soldiers. So, this day was actually the 'soldier killing day, he told reporters after attending a programme at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the capital.
There was no rationality to observe the day as the national revolution and solidarity day. . . I firmly believe that there should have remedy for every misdeed, he said.
The minister said the Awami League government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is holding the trial of war criminals.
The trial of the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been completed. Some verdicts of the trail of war criminals have also been executed, he added.
He said the trail of the 3rd November Jail Killing has been finished. But many trials are yet to be finished. I think that trials of all killings should be completed to establish justice in the country. I, myself, believe that a commission should be formed to unmask the perpetrators who were involved in the killing of soldiers on November 7, said Hasan, also publicity and publication secretary of Awami League.
Actually, the minister said, the incidents of killing of 15 August, 3 November, and 7 November in 1975 are identical.
