DHAKA, May 31, 2017 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday said 40,000 employee's posts still remain vacant in the public hospitals across the country and causing an overall management setback.
"The main problem of country's public hospital is 3rd and 4th class employees' crisis as 40,000 employee's posts still remain vacant in the public hospitals throughout the country," he said.
The health minister said this after visiting construction works of a new building of National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute here.
He said that the inter-ministerial initiative to fill the posts yet to be implemented due to bureaucratic tangle.
Despite the limited resources, Nasim said the government is providing the health care services to the people's doorsteps, adding that the government has brought out a big change in the health sector by appointing nearly 8,000 physicians and 10,000 nurses.
Ministry high officials including Additional Secretary Habibur Rahman, Project Director Dr Sirajul Islam Molla acting director Dr Monayem Hossen, among others, were present.
