4 newly promoted Additional IGPs adorned with rank badges

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Wednesday called upon the newly promoted Additional IGPs to discharge their duties professionally for the welfare of the country and people.

The IGP made this call as chief guest at the rank badge wearing ceremony of four officers promoted to the post of Additional IGP from DIG in the Hall of Pride of Police Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.

On February 25, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Headquarters Jamil Ahmad, DIG of Police Staff College Md Humayun Kabir, DIG of Police Headquarters YM Belalur Rahman and Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mir Rezaul Alam were promoted to the rank of additional IGP.

Besides, Additional IGP of Police Headquarters Md Kamrul Ahsan and Additional IGP of Special Branch Md Monirul Islam were also promoted to Grade-1 officers on the same day.

The IGP congratulated the newly promoted officers and said: “You have reached this stage today with your skill, competence and merit. I hope that in the coming days, you will take the vow of service and work to the best of your ability for the development of the country, to uphold the independence, to build the 'Smart Bangladesh' announced by the Honorable Prime Minister.”

The promoted officers pledged to uphold the image of the police force with their best and play a responsible role in facing any challenge for the welfare of the country and people, he said.
