DHAKA, May 31, 2017 (BSSS) - A total of 33 persons were rescued and a dead body was recovered so far from the Bay of Bengal as Indian Navy in coordination with Bangladesh Navy conducted a rescue operation following the Cyclone Mora that hit the country on Tuesday morning.
The Indian Navy ship, INS Sumitra, an Offshore Patrol Vessel carrying disaster relief materials has started the rescue operation at high sea with Bangladesh Navy, an Indian High Commission message said here today.
"The survivors could be from a sunken boat or huts washed away into the sea during the cyclone," it said adding there is likelihood of more survivors.
It said the operation is going on and once it is completed the Indian Navy Ship -INS Sumitra- will sail for Chittagong to disembark the relief materials.
