Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) said on Friday that they arrested 31 members of an organised snatching gang from several areas of the capital on Thursday night.
A team of the battalion led by its Commandant Lieutenant Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed conducted drives in the capital’s Matijhel, Shahbagh, Sabujbagh, Paltan, Jatrabari and Bangshal on Thursday night and arrested the snatchers.

Three anti-cutters, 14 blades, two knives, four switch gears, 37 mobile phone sets, some weapons used in snatching and Tk 27,073 in cash were recovered from the arrestees during the drives, a Rab press release said.
