3 held with heroin, ganja in Rajshahi, Bogura

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in

two separate anti-crime drives arrested three alleged drug peddlers,

including two women, with 725 grams of heroin and four kilograms of ganja in

Rajshahi and Bogura districts last night.

The arrested persons were identified as Wasiqul Islam, 40, son of Golam

Mostofa, Shamsun Nahar, 45, wife of Mijanur Rahman, and Rubi Akter, 47, wife

of Musha Sheikh.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in a house at

Kokrapara village and Godagari upazila in the district around 2.05 am and

arrested Wasikul with 725 grams of heroin red-handed.

Another RAB team conducted a sudden raid in a Naogaon-bound passenger bus

from Dhaka and arrested Shamsunnahar and Rubi Akter with four kilograms of

ganja after searching the bus around 9.30 pm.

The arrested persons along with the seized contraband goods were handed over

to the police.

Separate cases were recorded with the police stations concerned in these

connections.
