CHATTOGRAM Customs intelligence and investigation officials today seized 295 cartons of foreign made cigarettes and a gold bar from two passengers of Air Arabia at Shah Amanat International Airport.
On a tip off, the officials recovered the 295 cartons foreign brand cigarette and a gold bar worth about Taka 14 lakh from seven separate shopping bags in the flight which came from Sarza this morning, said Assistant Commissioner of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Mohammad Aminul Islam.
He said the passengers temporarily detained for interrogation.
A team of customs officials found the cigarette that came from Sarza around 7.30 am, Islam added.
