RAJSHAHI, BIDA Director Benjamin Riazi today said
an initiative has been taken to create 24,000 entrepreneurs within two years in line with one of the prime minister's 10 initiatives -'Investment
BIDA will provide training to the interested youths to create
entrepreneurs for accelerating economic progress in the country, he told at
the inaugural function of a motorbike road-show here.
Rajshahi divisional office of Bangladesh Investment Development
Authority (BIDA) arranged the motorbike road-show aims at highlighting the
importance of investment before the public in general for infusing
furthermore dynamism into the investment process.
More than 100 promising youths riding on 50 motorbikes passed through
various important points of the city including Shaheb Bazar, Talaimary,
Bhadra, Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Crossing, Mango Crossing and Luxmipur
crossing before being ended at Collectorate Building premises.
Before that, the rally was inaugurated on the Deputy Commissioner Office
premises. A large number of people including government and non-government
officials concerned, business and professional leaders and members of the
civil society participated in the rally.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Anwar Hossain, Social
Worker Shaheen Akhter Rainy, Deputy Commissioner Hamidul Haque, BIDA
Divisional Director Benjamin Riazi, local unit president of Bangladesh Women
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prof Rozety Naznin, Editor of Daily Sonali
Sangbad Liakat Ali and Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat spoke
on the occasion.
Anwar Hossain said the BIDA launched a week-long divisional level
promotional campaign aims at attracting local and foreign investment side by
side with flourishing the investment process on Saturday last.
As part of the programme, the divisional office has also set up ten
booths at different parts of the city to bring the potential youths under
registration for making them entrepreneurs through proper training.
He urged the youths to come forward to be entrepreneurs instead of
depending on only public sector jobs as the present government has taken
massive measures for promoting entrepreneurship.
