Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 21 accused including one Jamaat-e-Islami activist on various charges from seven upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested three accused including 1 Jamaat-e-Islami activist, Kalaroa police 5, Tala police 1, Kaliganj police 3 accused with 25 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, Shyamnagar police 2, Assasuni police 4, Patkelghata police 1 and Debhata police 2 accused.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Sources with the district police said the arrested were sent to jail after producing them before the concerned court this morning.
