2018 polls to eliminate militancy: Inu

NARSINGHDI, May 25, 2017 (BSS) - Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said yesterday that the polls in 2018 would be one to eliminate militancy, Jamaat and Razakars.

"It will be battle under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina to defeat them," he told a public meeting at Pachdona.

The minister said Sheikh Hasina does not spare any corrupt elements. She has brought even ministers to book, he added.

"We respect the administration but those who in the civil service were engaged in partisanship and hooliganism would not be spared," Inu said.

As long as Khaleda Zia does not get rid of Jamaat and Razakars, the "Grand alliance" would have to move cautiously, he added.

"At the end of the day, let us all unite and tolerate each other and confront the militants," the minister said.

With local unit of JSD president Zaidul Kabir, the meeting was also addressed by central and local leaders.
