DHAKA, March 6, 2016 (BSS) - Customs officials arrested two Singapore returned passengers along with 20 gold bars weighing two kilograms worth about Taka 88 lakh from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Sunday night.
Customs officials arrested Rubel Hossain and Ramon Chandra Saha from
Green Channel area of the airport with 20 gold bars weighing two kilograms around 11.30 pm on Sunday, assistant commissioner of customs Ahsanul Kabir told BSS.
The estimated value of the seized gold is Taka 88 lakh, he also said.
The arrestees arrived at Shahjala airport from Singapore by a flight of Regent Airlines around 11.15 pm on Sunday, he said.
Customs officials handed them over to the police.
A case was lodged against them with Bimanbandar Police Station.
