Two people were killed and 15 others injured as a BRTC bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Rajapur Upazila of the district today.
One of the deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan, supervisor of the bus.
Officer-in-Charge of Rajapur Thana Pulok Chandra Rai said the accident occurred at around 10 am in the Kanudashkathi area on Barisal-Patharghta Regional Highway as the driver of the bus lost his control over the steering wheels, leaving two persons dead on the spot and 15 others injured.
Bodies were sent to Jhalokati Sadar Hospital for autopsy while injured people were admitted to Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex.
