DHAKA, June 4, 2017 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Minister Md Mostafizur Rahman today said the government has recruited 1, 69,635 teachers at primary education level in the past eight years.
"We have recruited adequate number of teachers for removing manpower shortage in the education sector," he told a meeting with leaders of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association in the conference of the ministry, an official release said.
Mostafizur said alongside recruitment of large number of teachers, the government is providing higher training facilities at both home and abroad for enhancing their efficiency.
Additional secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Gias Uddin Ahmed, President of the teachers association Md Nuruzzaman Ansari and general secretary Md Abdullah sarkar, among others, present at the meeting.
