12 Indian fishermen detained in the Bay of Bengal

Bangladesh Coast Guard on Friday night detained 12 Indian fishermen in the Bay of Bengal on charge of intruding into Bangladesh maritime territory.

The detainees could not be identified immediately.

Md Jahangir Alam, sub-inspector, Mongla Police Station, said Coast Guard members detained 12 Indian fishermen from a trawler- FB Sudip- as they entered 29 kilometers inside Bangladesh maritime territory in the Bay of Bengal.

All of them were handed over to Mongla Police Station and case was filed.
