100 AC buses to hit city streets next year: CCC Mayor

Corporation (CCC) is implementing various projects to turn the port city into

a green, clean and modern one, City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin today said a total

of 100 air-conditioned buses would be introduced in the city next year.

The Mayor said, With a view to reducing traffic congestion and making

the city pollution free, the city corporation with the help of S.Alam Group

will launch 100 AC buses on January 1, 2020.

Mayor Nasir disclosed this while addressing a press conference at KB

Abdus Sattar auditorium here this afternoon.

A total of 1,375 out of 825 dustbins have already been removed from the

city and rest of the bustbins will be removed soon, he said, adding the CCC

distributed nine lakh bins and 1,972 workers are engaged in the task.

Nasir also urged journalists to make city dwellers aware of hygene as

well as cleanliness through their reports, extending media supports to make

the city clean and green.

The mayor, in his speech, also presented elaborated descriptions about

the ongoing road, culvert and bridge development projects being implemented

in the port city.

Chief executives officer, chief engineer, chief planner and chief

education officer were present at the press conference.
