A man was stabbed to death and six others were injured as an altercation broke out between two groups at Korail slum in Dhaka’s Banani Wednesday night, police said.
Al-Amin (30), a grocery shop owner, was killed in a “swift, bloody and merciless” knife attack.
“Rivals attacked Al-Amin as he went to a local mosque to pray. He suffered serious wounds after being repeatedly stabbed by them,” Bacchu Miah, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said.
The grocery shop owner was rushed to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at 9:4pm.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, Bacchu said.
