A teenage boy died after a train hit him in Dhaka’s Khilgaon on Thursday evening.
Md Ashiq Hossain, 17, attended this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination from Sachilapur Kistakathi School and College of Jhalakati Sadar upazila.
His elder brother Arif Hossain said: “Ashiq left our residence in the capital’s Uttara in the morning to celebrate Victory Day. I rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after hearing the news of his accident and found him dead.”
“The critically injured Ashiq was declared dead after being taken to DMCH’s emergency department at 6:30pm,” Bacchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said.
“The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Dhaka Railway Police Station has been informed of the incident.”
