Bangladesh shooter Nafisha Tabasum clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s 10-meter Air Rifles in her inaugural ISSF Grand Prix Competition held in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Thursday.
The event’s gold medalist of the last Bangladesh Games and ISSF Grand Prix debutant Nafisha scored 37 to win the bronze.
Laura-Georgeta ILIE of Romania clinched event’s gold medal scoring 49 after displaying her best performances in both qualification and in the final while Khairunnisa Salsabela of host Indonesia took the event’s silver scoring 45.5 .
In the same event, two other Bangladeshi competitors –Sajida Haque and Atkia Hasan eliminated from the semifinal and qualifying round respectively.
In the men’s 10-meter Air Rifles, Shovon Chowdhury and Rabbi Hasan of Bangladesh were eliminated from the 2nd rounds of the semifinals.
However, Shovon finished 5th and Rabbi was placed 6th among the eight participants.
