Sky Dining Cox’s Bazar: A New Frontier in Bangladesh’s Food Industry

Sky Dining is a new concept in the world food industry. It is an innovative idea of eating food at a height of 50 meters above ground level. The first Sky Dining was launched in September 2018 in Bangalore, India. Now it is available in more than 45 countries in the world. It has been recently launched in Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh. Sky Dining in Bangladesh

The restaurant is flying in the sky. Sitting in it, you can see the waves of the sea, the distant mountains, and the amazing sunset of the sea. This is not the end. Besides seeing these eye-catching scenes, there are also various foods available on the menu!

This opportunity has been created in the tourist city Cox’s Bazar. A hanging restaurant called ‘Skydining Cox’s Bazar’ has started at Sugandha Point on the beach.

The Inception of Sky Dining in Bangladesh

Skydining Bangladesh started its journey on November 30. Located at Sugandha Beach in Cox’s Bazar Sea beach, the restaurant is beautifully decorated. It has been introduced with adequate seating space. A crane has been set up in the empty space on the west side of the restaurant.

On a special deck, chairs, tables, and umbrellas with a capacity of 24 people have been made open to the surrounding area. The crane’s head is attached to the deck with an aluminum-steel bracket. Restaurant staff will serve if you order food of your choice in the kitchen.

Ensuring complete safety, food is being provided here with the help of state-of-the-art machine cranes at the height of 160 feet above the ground of the beach. The tourists are getting a thrilling feeling of being entertained in the realm of clouds. Entrepreneurs hope the hanging restaurant will change the face of tourism in Cox’s Bazar.

Is it Safe?

An open Skydining is built around a deck with chairs, tables, and an umbrella-like roof. The restaurant is lifted from the ground to the sky by a special type of crane. After the guests sit at the Skydining table, the staff secures them with three levels of belts. So, you can say it is quite safe to ride in a SkyDining.

With the help of a crane, the whole deck is lifted very slowly. Once the deck reaches 160 feet, the food gets served. However, the dining deck revolves around the air. At the end of the two-hour meal, it comes down with the guests.

Booking and Cost

Flying dining hangs in the sky with a seating capacity for 24 people. Of these, 20 chairs are for guests. There will be four staff at the table serving the guests. Skydining will be in the sky with guests for two hours. Online bookings can be made to board the hanging restaurant. Further, you can also book directly with cash.

On the occasion of the inauguration, the minimum cost per person has been fixed at BDT. 4,000 till Friday. The cost will be determined later, depending on the menu. In that case, the cost may rise up to 7 to 8 thousand takas. Whatever the price, buyers will find it on Skydining’s online portal.

What’s on the Menu?

The initial menu shows the Sky Dining has a 6-course meal which includes, Bowl of Middle East, Vardune Cone, Wild Crostini, British Paneer Tikka, Fulka Tacos, and Nutty Nut Brownie. However, this is not the final menu, and more food might get increased. However, the price is not disclosed yet as the promotion is going on for a week. Who Built Bangladesh’s First Sky Dining Restaurant?

Actually, it is an international franchise, which has facilities in more than 45 countries. But it is the first in Bangladesh. Indian company ‘Your Travels Limited’ built the Sky Dining in Bangladesh. Nawab Fayez Abu Bakkar Khan is the head of Skydining Restaurant. Tony Khan, the head of Khan Kitchen, a world-renowned chef in Dhaka, is managing the ‘Skydining’ restaurant.

The construction was started in 2020. However, it was supposed to be inaugurated in February 2021. But it got delayed and rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Structural Elements

Flying and Dining is an experience like no other. The Sky Dining structure, which has the capacity to seat 24 people around a table and is secured by aviation-standard safety belts on comfortable chairs that can rotate 360 degrees.

The restaurant was designed in collaboration with gourmet chefs who specialize in creating fine food for special occasions or holidays such as New Year’s Eve parties or family birthdays!

How is Skydining Cox’s Bazar is Different from other locations?

Since it is under the same franchise as other Asian countries, the facilities and all other things remain the same. But there has been a slight change in the price. For example, Sky Dining Nodia costs around BDT. 3,500 (1Rupee= BDT. 1.14) per person while Bangladeshi one will cost BDT. 7,000- BDT. 8,000. On the other hand, Dinner in the Sky Dubai costs around BDT. 14,000- BDT. 19,000 (1USD= BDT. 85.67).

London in the Sky has breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner, while Cox’s Bazar has only a dinner menu. Prices in London start from BDT. 9,000 for breakfast and BDT. 17,000 for (£1= BDT 113.36) sunset dinner.

Final Words

The Sky Dining in Cox’s Bazar may spice up the Cox’s Bazar tourism industry. But, many tourists may not see this as a good option as the price is a bit higher for middle-class tourists. However, the current discounted price is BDT. 4,000 per person is reasonable for all. On the whole, Sky Dining restaurant opens a new horizon for the tourism industry of Bangladesh.
